I'm so so sad :(

Yesterday while preparing to go to work, I took out my pink coach bag & put all my barang inside. Just before I step out of the house, I notice the stitches came out slightly but I was not too bothered cos I'm rushing for time! *I'll post pics tomorrow*

While I'm in the cab, on the way to my parents place to hitch a ride in my sis car, the part where the stitches came out become more of an eye sore to me, Colin bought this bag for me in Feb which is just 2 mths ago & the stitches already start coming out.

After I reach home, I went to look for the receipt cos I remember the sales assistant told me there's 6 mths warranty but not too sure if this is covered but I still wanna try my luck. I search my whole room but couldn't find the receipt, so went to call the outlet instead

This kind sales assistant which I didn't get her name say will call me back after I describe the damage to her, since I misplace the receipt they really need to look thru their system.

Her supervisor by the name of June called me, I explain the damage to her one more time & she's really patience listening to me (bravo for that!). She say thats not covered under warranty as its wear & tear!! I told her if its one year after I own the bag I'll believe its wear & tear, not 2 mths!! This is really ridiculous, we're talking about Coach here, not those pasar malam bags leh. She requested me to bring down the bag, I told her earliest is either this Fri or Sun cos I'm working, I promise to call her before I go down.

Today I couldn't make it in time to hitch a ride in my dad's car so decided to work from home, Colin suggest that since I'm more available in the noon ask me to bring my bag down to Taka, I called the outlet to make sure June is around & estimate my arrival time is around 3pm.

2.15 - I was already at Taka but just happens June went down for lunch, I went to walk around aimlessly for a good 1 hour.

3.15pm - I went back & June is back! I show her the bag & again she say that is under wear & tear!! I told her this is only bought 2 mths ago & I didn't even use it on a daily basis, how can it wear & tear so fast!! The shop is quite crowded & I'm quite sure some of the ladies there have heard me quite loud & clear.

June went off to a room, maybe talk to her boss & I went to kpo in the shop, see & touch new bags then she came to me saying "we'll waived off the charges this time round cos we value you as our customer (by right I have to pay $40 to get the problem fixed), so I told her quite loud I pressume that this is Coach, I expect your bags are off high quality & its really a bag I love so much!!! I dun expect wear & tear to show just after 2 mths, its really something I cannot accept!

After getting the necessary paperwork done, I casually ask how long does the repair take, she told me 1 to 2 mths *faintz*, since I'm not paying a single cent for the repair I just have to wait. She say she'll call me again on Thurs to see how the repair will be done after she speak to her vendor.

But I really have to give thumbsup for their service, they're so patience & really return my calls, even though I'm still sad at the end of the day, their good & patience service really put a smile on my face. In all conversation with me, they'll greet me as "Ms Audrey, can u pls sign here or Ms Audrey, I'll take down ur number to return ur call". This is what I call good customer service & they value me as their customer, it makes me feel worthwhile going thru all the hassle.

our mini classic conversation

Yesterday Colin went to attend Sony workshop at Wisma, so I decided to go "window shop" alone. Since the workshop is from 2pm to 3.30pm (somehow it only ended at 4pm), I decided to just walk around taka & wisma to find out what new shops there are since its been quite a while since I last went there.

Just happen to walk past Kate Spade outlet decided to pop in to take a look at their wallet range, not that I'm gonna buy something for myself, but somehow it strike me that I should buy something for my MIL as Mother's Day present.

I saw 2 range of wallets, first one with fabric surface with nice compartments for her, colours extremly striking (Pink, green & purple!!), price just within my budget $280. next one I saw its like snake skin surface but the price really freak me out (no way I'm gonna spend $500 on a wallet).

Since I couldn't decide on the colour, went out to walk one round, in fact less than 15 seconds I went back again & decided to get pink. Paid everything with my own card (not charged to my supp card), wrap up nicely & feel extremely happy cos after 4 years of marriage this is my very first gift to my MIL.

3.45pm - I check my handphone to make sure I didn't miss any of his calls, no miss calls *phew*

4pm - he called me & I told him to meet me at food republic cos I'm thirsty.

4.05pm - Finally met up with Colin, when he saw the Kate Spade paper bag, his eyes bigger than Gor Lee (Marble) ask me what's inside, me feeling extremely happy & proud told him thats for his mum.

His eyes still big big staring at the paper bag ask me buy for her for what!! Wah, speechless with his reaction I reply cannot buy for her meh, he even ask me if its for me!! Oh man, I never like Kate Spade so why buy something I dun even like in the first place. I say for Mother's Day mah, just a "small gift" from me, I use my own money, never swipe card hor!!!!

He say I bought her a Coach wrislet already, why still buy wallet???? The usage of wrislet & wallet is different lah!!! Wristlet she can put other things, she can bring wrislet when she go do marketing or nearby stuff, but wallet only can put money & some very important cards. This is my OWN personal gift to her, no other motives just my thoughts thats all. Buy flowers will wither leh.

He went quiet still cannot believe his eyes & I forget to take a pic of his shocking face look.

P/S: Reason is very simple, I dun wan tongues wagging behind my back saying I use expensive coach bag & buy cheapo or no gifts for my MIL. To show that I (we) appreciate what she have done for us & for the 12 days effort she put in to take really good care of our 2 monkies, this is really the min I (we) can do. She even achieve one milestone that she dare to carry them, clean after them, make sure they're well-fed so that we can go holiday in peace, help us save $300 nanny fees. I truely feel that this gift she truely deserve it. I can be quite sure that if she find out the price, she'll treasure so much till maybe never use. Have to find ways to make sure she make good use of them if not I feel I waste more money!

As for my mum, we'll just bring her out for a meal, extremely hard to buy gifts for cos she have everything most practical gift is to fill her tummy!

On hold!!

Update of our holiday will be put on hold cos all the pics & videos is in Colin's PC & his hardisk decided to die on him this morning!!

I'll slowly update the itenary next week when work isn't that busy then when Colin manage to revive the dead hardisk I'll post all the pics. Bear with me for the time being for the super lack of updates!!

The Long Awaited Day - 18 Mar 2009

18 March 2009 marks the day my dear cousin Yishan is getting married to her beau, Raymind after 8 years courtship!

17 March 2009

I was pretty busy at work as well as replying her sms & even beg me not to sabo Raymond. I told her firmly men must be able to withstand stress, if he can't even withstand such stress, I'll be worried!

After discussing some final issues with her on the phone, I zonk off to lala land cos I need to wake up latest 3.45am! I seriously cannot remember when is the last time I wake up at such ungodly hour, even my own wedding I didn't wake up that early.

18 March 2009

I woke up at 3.45am, didn't laze around in bed in case I got not enough time to get ready. Colin also woke up at this time to prepare some breakfast for me, I called for a cab at 4.30am cos I didn't see any cabs on the road, Colin with 90% of his brain in dreamland accompanied me down to take the cab.

Reach my cousin's place at 5am & she just started her makeup.

6am - The groom is here to pick the bride! The makeup is not done, my auntie & uncle have yet to put the veil on their only daughter!! I called the groom to wait cos the bride is not ready.

6.15am - Yishan's cousin & photographer went down, I peep out of the window 5 mins later they're on the way up, quickly locked the gate. Naughty me move my cousin from her room to her parents room which is next door, close all room doors to make it more realistic

6.20am - Groom & bestman is waiting for us (jiemeis) to open the gate, but before we do it, he have to ans 3 questions prepared by the bride, first wrong ans he have to drink pure lemon juice from milk bottle (courtesy of Shyenne & Sherlise), 2nd wrong ans he have to eat ritz biscuit with very pathetic amount of wasabi, 3rd wrong ans he have to eat one piece of chocolate.

All task completed in 15 mins, so I told them before I open the gate you should know what to do right, then he say oh ya & handed me the angbao. Open up only $120, I ask him your wife only worth this much ah, then he ask how much we want, you see how much your wife is worth lor, they went to the side, ding dong for a few minutes & our patience run low, came back with another angbao, add $60 only *faintz*. I let him in cos no time already.

6.40am - I told him before he's allowed to see the bride, he must say something from his heart, I didn't have any script 100% from his heart with my auntie & uncle + grandma as witness! so he say something like "Dear Yishan, today is our big day, I'll love you & hold you till both of us no teeth". Really have the urge to suan him, but no time . Then he's given a bunch of keys to open the room door, 3 attempts afterwhich he have to sing song. First attempt he open the door!!!! So damn lucky can!! I cannot believe my eyes!!!!!!

When he open the door, bride not inside, he went in search the whole room with a super shocking face & ask me where's the bride. I told him there's only 3 bedroom here, you're free to open all room doors to search. Colin say I very evil, he finally found the bride & ask her if she heard what he say earlier, really set us laughing out loud.

7.15am, we set off to their new place, cos they need to enter their bedroom at 8am sharp, no less no more!!! It was pure madness cos we really didn't want them to miss the auspicious timing.

7.58am - Ask them to standby & march-in to their bedroom & stand outside till the clock strike 8am.

8am - Finally can enter bedroom. They ate tangyuan & I can't see what other ingredients are there in the bowl.

8.15am - We're ready to set off to the groom's parents place for tea ceremony. The entire morning have to calm my cousin's nerves down, she walk super fast & I'm running behind her cos I need to hold her gown.

Before 9am cos cannot remember exact timing - We're at tampines, tea ceremony begins

10.30am - leave for my auntie & uncle place at toa payoh, by this time 70% of my brain in dreamland already, so so so tired leh.

11am - Tea Ceremony begins & I'm the angbao caretaker for the day! Leave all valuables with my aunt. I ate my lunch at 11.30am even though no appetite but I was so hungry

12.30pm - My dad send me home & I knock out to lala land at 2pm, cos need to reach banquet venue before 6pm! I was thrown the task of reception & ROM table settings.

6.30pm to 11pm - Thank God everything went on very smoothly. Reach home feed the 2 monkies, I quickly take my shower & knock out in less than 5mins.

It was a super tiring day, but I'm so so so happy for my auntie & uncle & her grandma. They're truly happy that their only precious daughter have found her happiness.

Congrats Yishan & Raymond!!! Have a blissful marriage!!!

p/s: Raymond if you ill-treat Yishan, I'll hold you 100% responsible
